After many years of planning and preparation behind the scenes, we’re excited to share an important milestone in the history of Sharon King Hearing Centres.

From 1 October 2026, ownership of the practice will officially transfer from Sharon King to her daughter, Jacqui Bradbery.

While this date marks the official change in ownership, the transition itself is far from sudden. In fact, it has been carefully planned and gradually implemented over several years to make sure that when the time came, the change would be as seamless as possible for our clients and our team.

A transition years in the making

A few years ago, Jacqui began taking on the management of the practice for Sharon. Since then, she has progressively taken responsibility for more of the day-to-day operations and running of the business.

Much of the preparation for the eventual transfer of ownership has happened quietly behind the scenes. This gradual approach has allowed Jacqui to become well established in the management of the practice long before the official change of ownership.

For our existing clients, this means that while the name on the ownership paperwork may be changing, the way the practice operates isn't suddenly changing on 1 October.

What does this mean for Sharon?

Many of our long-term clients will have noticed Sharon gradually reducing her clinical days in Tamworth over the past few years as part of the transition towards retirement.

However, this isn't necessarily goodbye!

Sharon still plans to remain involved on a casual basis and continue servicing some of our visiting locations, so you may still see a familiar face from time to time.

The transition gives Sharon the opportunity to step back from the responsibility of owning and running the practice while still remaining connected to the work and communities that have been such a large part of her life.

What does this mean for our clients?

For our clients, very little will change.

You will continue to see the same team of staff, receive the same range of hearing services and have access to hearing technology from a broad range of manufacturers.

Our commitment to providing independent hearing care will remain an important part of the practice. Being able to consider different brands, technologies and solutions allows us to recommend options based on the individual sitting in front of us their hearing, lifestyle, needs and preferences.

If you're currently receiving ongoing care from us, there is nothing you need to do. Appointments, follow-ups and existing services will continue as normal.

This transition has been deliberately planned over a long period to ensure continuity of care and minimise any impact on our clients.

Continuing what Sharon started

Sharon has spent many years building a local hearing practice that services not only Tamworth, but communities throughout the North West and New England.

Passing the business to Jacqui allows that legacy to continue within the family while also giving the practice the opportunity to move into its next chapter.

For Jacqui, taking ownership is a natural continuation of the role she has already been performing within the business for several years. The official transfer on 1 October simply marks the next step in a transition that has already been well underway.

There will undoubtedly be exciting things ahead, but the foundations of the practice remain the same: local people, independent hearing care, access to a broad range of technology and a team committed to looking after our clients.
